Sure glad I'm not the only one that has things take many hours instead of just the few minutes it SHOULD take! [doh]

Keep up the good work! victory

Just a quick update as proof-of-life: I'm still here, just not making much progress.

After many hours of discussion with my adult supervisor, praying and pondering, I have decided to get back into drumming. The church that Melody and I attend lost their two drummers over the winter (one was sent off as a missionary and the other was sent off to plant a church in Minnesota) and asked me if I'd be interested in doing some fill-in drumming with the worship team. I haven't played professionally for over 10 years and not at all in 4 but still have "it" in my blood. However, I sold my previous drum kit 4 years ago from lack of use.

Therefore, now my $$$ is being spent building up a drum kit and my time is being spent trying to knock the rust off and get my chops back. It's been enjoyable (despite the aching muscles) and my first Sunday on the team is this Sunday.

Despite all that, and in between doing the annual service on our 4-wheeler for summer weed spraying duty and working on the rear brakes on our Indian Scout, I did manage to dust some cobwebs off the IT project.

The last thing I did in January () was install new Motion Pro cables and grips. When I checked the bike later, the throttle was sticking badly. So this past Monday, I finally cut the new grip off and discovered grip goo had found its way down between the throttle tube and handlebar. Ugh.

Some scraping, some steel wool and we're good to go again.

No photos, it was too quick. Grips on order and headlight on order.

Next on the list is to finish up the street legal lighting, horn, brake light switch and wiring.

It will come!

A bit more progress this afternoon. Did some more repairs to the wiring harness and got things hooked back up. Kicked it over and....

WE HAVE SPARK!!!!! Nice fat, blue/white snapping spark.

Then sussed out the rear brake light switch and got it installed.

Also spent some time on the headlight and handlebar switch wiring. Tedious but necessary.

Feels good to be back in the shop with Rockies baseball on the AM dial!!

Tried to edit that previous post, text only, and was immediately sent to the "Forbidden" page, but was NOT blocked out of the site.

Let's see if I can simply add a reply to the thread.
