Is the grey paint used on the 68, and 69 fenders, and cases metallic grey paint, or just grey paint? Thanks Stan

Stan use what Dave says and dust it with DE 1636 clear. The clear keeps it from getting stained when you wash it. Capt Dave

Hey Guys, reviving an old post here as the title was the closest out of the many to what I needed...

In looking at the paint on my 68 DT1 (and others), it appears there are two grey paints...
- a light metallic grey on the headlight ears, fenders and chain guard.
- a slightly darker, almost flat, non-metallic grey on the fork lowers and engine cases.

However, in searching all the posts on paint, everyone points to the following:
- Prime with Duplicolor FP 101 Grey Filler
- Base coat with Duplicolor DE 1615 Aluminum Engine Paint
- Clear coat with Duplicolor DE 1636 Clear

So... Is there a different paint for the engine and fork lowers versus the body parts, or not?
