5stringz May possibly Own a Yamaha Enduro?

Default

Hello all from South Georgia.
New to the board not motorcycles.
Bought 2 dt125's for a project last year. We were challenged to purchase a sub 150 cc bike and service it for $500.
Bike that ran the most miles during a 24 hour period won the contest. The contest is always dominated by 4stroke bikes. We blew the little 125 up twice during the 24 hour run. Running that bike 70 mph for long periods of time just won't work.

We used the 2nd bike for parts to service the race bike. Even build a fairing and added an external fuel tank on the rack.

Now I bought a DT3 250. Getting it running now. Hope to use this board for a resource.

Other bikes:
1972 Honda CB 350
1970 Honda CB 175
2008 Triumph Bonnie T100

Default welcome, Earl

Welcome 5stringz. A question for you: Do you know how we know that the toothbrush was invented by a banjo player?

Cause if it wasn't a banjo player, it would be called "the teethbrush!"

Default Intro for Tom in Maryland

I've been riding motorcycles since 1973 beginning with a Kawasaki 100 enduro. Graduated to a Honda SL350, Kawasaki 500 H1B triple (at age 16), Suzuki GT500, CB650 Custom, CB900 Custom, FJ1200, CBR600, CBR900, SV1000S. Over the last couple of years I've restore an EX500, QLink XF200 and a Honda VF500F Interceptor, etc. A couple of years ago I built an interesting CT70/Trail clone with a 140cc Piranha engine that I use for around town. Currently have 9 bikes with 3 in rebuild. The toughest thing I've encountered (in a long time) is trying to remove the springs from the forks of a '79 DT100. I got the screw out of the bottom of the fork leg and the cap off the top but am unable to get the spring out using heat, prying, etc. There's some kind of cap there that's defeating me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I bought an LT2 band new in 1972. I still have it. Looking to get it back on the road. Looking for a carburetor.
