dt400eman May possibly Own a Yamaha Enduro?

I believe the idea behind the offset combustion chamber was to help balance the heat between the hot exhaust side of the piston and cylinder and the cooler intake side. So there will be less thermal expansion or distortion of the cylinder and a cooler crown. It does this by the exhaust side being more shielded against the direct full force of combustion. Also the larger squish on the exhaust side where a bigger portion of trapped cooling fuel/air mixture lowers crown/head temps.
